A decade in the creative industry is a journey filled with trials, failures, successes, and evolving visions. My 10-year odyssey, embodies the passion and persistence that defines a true creative career (I believe so).

Over ten years, my designs have evolved not only through trends but through the very fabric of experience. My early career designs at Graphix and Red Liquid Advertising in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe definitely feel raw and unrefined, I cringe when I see of the when I did. With time, however, each project has added depth to my creative creative language. The journey is marked by sleepless nights, the agony of tight deadlines, and the elation of a breakthrough idea—all of which contribute to a matured perspective on beauty, function, and innovation. The struggles and the breakthroughs are necessary bits in a creative’s journey as they sculpt one’s design style and gives a voice to the unknown face.

My evolution is as much about learning technical software as it is about embracing personal growth. The challenges faced during early projects—scrutinized feedback, harsh market realities, and evolving client demands—eventually did crystallize into lessons that sharpened both technical expertise and emotional resilience. Every misstep served as a building block toward a more nuanced and bold creative voice. At some point I wanted to actually quit design and find something else.

What does it mean to evolve as a designer? It’s about shedding outdated paradigms, actively seeking inspiration in the everyday, and maintaining a hunger for continuous improvement. It is a process of self-discovery where one learns to express ideas not just visually, but with meaning and purpose.
